ARIAS
BURNING HEART
Following the success of Magenta — an international House anthem produced with Arno Cost — and a string of acclaimed releases throughout 2008, French DJ and producer Arias returns with his most arresting work to date: Burning Heart.
Where previous releases drew on crunchy basslines and trancey, uplifting leads, Burning Heart marks a deliberate shift into darker, more hypnotic terrain. The track is anchored by towering arpeggiated synths — cascading, mechanical, relentless — that move through the mix like something vast and cold. It is not a record built for euphoria. It is built for the edge of it.
The two-track release pairs the title cut with T.Q., an equally brooding companion that extends the mood rather than breaking from it. Together they form a cohesive statement: progressive house stripped of its warmth, rebuilt with weight and precision.
Arias first announced himself to the international scene with Magenta in 2006 — co-produced with Arno Cost, edited by Eric Prydz, and hailed as the most played track at Amsterdam Dance Event that year. Burning Heart demonstrates that the ambition behind that debut has only deepened.
