Fresh off the back of "My Dancefloor Recipe," Muttonheads waste no time reasserting their place on the floor. "Acid" — the artist's sixth release — arrives as something of a mission statement: stripped-back, bass-heavy, and unapologetically rooted in the fundamentals of House music.

Where other producers of the era were chasing maximalism, Muttonheads take the opposite route. "Acid" is a study in restraint — a track built around a commanding bass line that has become Muttonheads' most recognisable calling card, set against chord work that carries the unmistakeable tang of classic House. The production is deliberately lean: no unnecessary layers, no decorative excess. Just the essentials, locked in and working hard.

Completing the package is a remix from Alex Kenji, who steers the material into different territory. His rework leans into a more Electro-inflected, laid-back aesthetic — a counterpoint to the kinetic energy of the original that broadens the release's range without diluting its identity.
