Serial Records looks back at "To You," the very first release from Muttonheads — and the track that introduced the project to the French house scene.

From the opening bars, "To You" lays out the blueprint for everything Muttonheads would become known for: a fat, rolling bass line, a well-chosen vocal sample, and a funky, groove-driven energy steeped in French Touch spirit. It's a track that wears its influences proudly while already sounding distinctly like its own thing.

The EP found a fast audience, quickly earning Muttonheads recognition and setting the stage for the productions that would follow.

Rounding out the release is a "6 Million Dollars Remix" courtesy of Da Fresh, putting his own spin on the original and adding another dimension to the EP.

A foundational moment in the Muttonheads story, "To You" remains a glimpse into where that signature sound began.
