Sebastien Benett

Sébastien Benett never felt more pleased by his passion for electronic music and deejaying than in 2006, when he got back from his holidays in Ibiza. Shortly after, he was launching his own podcast, named «House From Ibiza». At this time, podcasts were booming thanks to the Apple fastly-growing supremacy, which allowed him to climb till the iTunes most downloaded musical podcasts, along with people like Joachim Garraud. The young parisian stepped from an anonymous status to someone really influent for many listeners around the world. Fueled by his fame on the Internet, several radios (HotMixRadio, FG, Fun Radio...) quickly got in touch to broadcast his radio show, turning him into a real phenomenon within the clubbing scene.

Let’s be honest. Sébastien is not shy at all. Behind the decks, he dives into his rock background and his drummer profile to share his mixed music like no one else. His first public performances underlined a pure energy and a real ability to entertain. Indeed, Sébastien deeply feels each of his tracks without any limits, just like a rock star would share his body with the crowd. Doing this, he smartly anticipated where deejaying was pointing to. Early in his carreer, he did bring a Live madness to his shows, which is now obvious for the most of current DJs. Stage diving, climbing everywhere, chasing fans to jump with him at each drop... Day after day, Sébastien turned out to be a very persuasive master of ceremony, acting without any limits, sharing his orgasmic passion for music.

Besides of his always busier Live schedule, he progressively applied for some hectic studio sessions. In 2009, some of his early tracks were signed to Serial & M6 Music, which gave him the opportunity to export his talents worldwide. The following year, HFI Records was born. Three letters to remind his «House From Ibiza» baseline. Three letters tending to be both a label and a global brand. A new challenge in a way, leading him to produce some big parties in which he’d be the one and only deejaying, performing and even drumming character...

HFI never kept Sébastien from signing with some big international imprints. In 2011, for instance, he got to enter Laidback Luke’s Mixmash catalogue through his tracks ‘Slap’ & ‘Ghost Rider’. Supported by many international big names, Sébastien also kept on being very active in his own country. Very closed to several French main DJs, he naturally got involved in a new collective named Reepublic. In 2012, ‘Turn Off The Light’ was a brillant starting point for the band, who started to headline some of the biggest EDM events. On stage, Reepublic looks like a rock band in which Sébastien is, more than ever, able to express his natural showman skills.

Since then, Sébastien Benett has two playgrounds, even if his solo career stays his main focus. Very busy in his studio, he released many tracks in 2013. All signed to his own HFI Records, his new original tracks are driven by a large source of inspirations. ‘You Can't Fuck With Me’, ‘Prometheus’, ‘Get Your Hands Up’, ‘Gammatron’ & ‘Lucifer’ are fully based on the genuine dancefloor knowledge of their author, regularly charted by star DJ’s like Afrojack. Besides his own strong dynamic, Reepublic seems to become something bigger and bigger thanks to ‘Never Comes Back’, a very efficient follow-up which underlines the creative synergy of its 5 members.

At 28 years old, Sébastien Benett is living his dream. From his first ever podcast to his current success, his love for music and entertainment never stopped feeding him. Motivated and serious, he knows how to stay sober and true to his passion. A quality belonging to the best artists, may they be DJs or rockers.
